How the screenshot reply works
- Take a screenshot of the chat, profile, photo or story you want to answer, in Tinder, Hinge, Bumble, Instagram, WhatsApp or any other app.
- Open DateViser, tap Screenshot and pick the image. Your phone's own photo picker opens, so the app receives only the screenshot you choose, not your photo library.
- Set the boldness slider anywhere from sweet to daring and tap Generate. DateViser works out which messages are yours and where the conversation stands.
- Copy the message and send it yourself. Not quite right? Tap Generate More for a different idea with different first words.
Answering the last message in a chat
The screenshot shows both sides of the conversation. DateViser reads it the way you would: who wrote what, what they just said and what is worth picking up. For a chat that ends with their message "Just got back from a hike, my legs are destroyed", it could suggest:
- Sweet: Worth it though? Tell me the view at the top made up for the legs.
- Charming: Destroyed legs means a good hike. Where did you go, and do I need to train first?
- Flirty: So you're telling me you need someone to carry you to coffee this week?
Tip: keep their last two or three messages in the screenshot. The reply can only build on what is in the picture.
Opening from a profile, photo or story
On a profile or a story there is no conversation yet, so DateViser picks one specific detail and builds the opener around it, never a compliment on looks alone. For a Hinge profile with a photo of a half-finished jigsaw puzzle, it could suggest:
- Sweet: Okay, how many pieces is that puzzle, and did it ever get finished?
- Flirty: A puzzle person. I'll bring snacks if you let me help with the edges.
Tip: crop to the one photo or prompt you want to comment on. One detail beats a summary of the whole profile.
Restarting a chat that went quiet
Upload a screenshot of where the conversation stopped. DateViser writes a light message that gives the other person an easy way back in, without guilt about the silence. If the screenshot shows they are pulling away or setting a boundary, it writes a gracious message instead of a chase, whatever the slider says. For a chat about a concert that went silent a week ago, it could suggest:
- Sweet: Did you end up going to that show? I've been wondering how it was.
- Charming: I'm declaring our concert debate officially unfinished. Still team front row?
What it does not do
- It never logs in to your dating apps and never sends a message for you. You copy, you decide, you send.
- It only knows what is in the screenshot. It does not see your matches, your notifications or earlier messages that are not in the picture.
- It reads one screenshot at a time. For a long chat, screenshot the part that matters, usually the last few messages.
- It will not write graphic sexual messages or sexualize the person in a photo, even at the bold end of the slider, and it does not write anything for images showing a minor, explicit content or violence.
- It does not tell you whether someone is interested or whether a profile is fake. It writes the message; reading the situation is still on you.

Frequently asked questions
Which apps does it work with?
Any app you can take a screenshot in. People use it for dating apps such as Tinder, Hinge, Bumble, Grindr and HER, for Instagram DMs and stories, and for WhatsApp and text messages. DateViser reads the image, so it never needs to connect to the app.
Do I have to say which messages are mine?
No. DateViser works out from the screenshot which side of the chat is you and which message you are answering. You do not type any instructions.
What happens to my screenshot?
It is not saved on DateViser's servers. To write the reply, it is sent to DateViser's AI provider, currently OpenAI, through OpenAI's API with response storage turned off, and OpenAI says it does not use API data to train its models unless the developer opts in. There is no account, so the screenshot is not tied to a name, email or phone number. Crop out anything you do not need to share.
Is it free?
It is free to try: you get a few screenshot replies and a little time with your AI dating counselor each week, and the pickup line library is free. Premium gives you more of both. The price for your country, and any free trial, is shown in the app before you subscribe.
Which languages does it write in?
The language of your conversation. A chat in Spanish gets a reply in Spanish, and a chat in Turkish gets one in Turkish.
What if the reply does not sound like me?
Tap Generate More for a different idea with different first words, or move the slider. Then treat the message as a draft: changing one word to the way you talk is often enough.
How is this different from asking ChatGPT?
