What to reply to an Instagram story (or DM)? Screenshot it and DateViser writes the message
A lot of dating never touches a dating app: it starts with a story reply on Instagram. DateViser turns a screenshot of a story, a profile or a DM thread into a message you can actually send. It does not connect to your Instagram account and it never sends anything for you.
- 4.9 stars on the App Store (Türkiye)
- No account, email or phone number
- Never connects to your dating apps
- Screenshots are not stored
- Made by Case Studio
Free to try: a little time with your counselor and a few screenshot replies each week. Premium gives you more of both.
How DateViser works with Instagram
- Take a screenshot in Instagram of the profile, the chat or the story you want to answer. DateViser does not open or connect to Instagram; a screenshot is all it needs.
- Upload it and set the boldness slider, anywhere from sweet to daring. The app reads who said what and where the conversation stands.
- Copy the reply and send it in Instagram. Not quite right? Tap "generate more" for a different angle, not the same line reworded.
Replying to a story to start a conversation
A story reply lands in their DMs, which makes it the lowest-pressure opener on Instagram: it is about the story, not about them. The trap is the fire emoji, which says nothing. DateViser reads the screenshot of the story and writes a reply about what is actually in it:
- That coffee looks like it has a strong opinion about Mondays.
- Okay but who took the photo, because they deserve credit for the timing.
- Sunset over the bridge and you still haven't told anyone where this is. Rude.
Screenshot the story before it disappears. If it has text or a poll, keep it in the frame; the reply is better when it can quote it.
The first DM to someone you don't know well
Sliding into DMs works when the message is specific and gives them an easy way to answer. DateViser looks at the profile (bio, pinned posts, a recent photo) and writes an opener that is clearly about them, not a copy-paste:
- Your pinned post says "ask me about the pasta". So: what about the pasta?
- I've seen three people post that hike this month and yours is the only one that looks like fun. Was it?
- Genuine question from your last reel: did the cat ever come down?
If you have a mutual friend or a shared event, mention it in the screenshot or in the note to DateViser; the opener will use it.
Left on seen
Seen, no reply. Sending "??" or "hello?" makes it worse. DateViser writes one message that changes the subject and gives them a reason to answer, without pointing at the silence:
- Different topic entirely: I need someone with taste to settle whether this playlist is good or just loud.
- Saw your story from the concert. I'm going to need a review in three words.
- Not to bring up old business, but you said you'd tell me how the interview went.
One restart, then let it go. DateViser will tell you when a chat is done, not just how to keep pushing.
Moving from Instagram to a plan
Instagram chats drift because there is always another story to react to. DateViser turns what you have talked about into a concrete suggestion:
- You've now mentioned that bakery twice. I say we test it Saturday morning and I bring the strong opinions.
- The gallery from your story closes Sunday. Want to go before it does?
- Two weeks of story replies is a lot of build-up for a coffee. Thursday?
What DateViser does not do on Instagram
- It never logs in to Instagram and never sends a message for you. You copy, you decide, you send.
- It does not see your matches, likes or notifications. It only knows what is in the screenshot you upload.
- It does not tell you whether a profile is fake or whether someone is interested. It writes the message; reading the situation is still on you.
Price: DateViser is free to download and free to try: a little time with your counselor and a few screenshot replies each week, and the opener library is always free. Premium gives you more of both; the price for your country, and any free trial, is shown in the app before you subscribe.
Frequently asked questions
Does DateViser connect to my Instagram account?
No. DateViser never logs in to Instagram and never sends a DM for you. You take a screenshot of the story, profile or chat inside Instagram, upload it to DateViser, and copy the reply back into Instagram yourself.
Can they see that I screenshotted their story?
Instagram does not notify people when you screenshot a story or a post. It only notifies for screenshots of disappearing photos and videos sent in a DM. Screenshotting a normal story to think about your reply is invisible to them.
What is a good reply to an Instagram story?
Something about the content of the story that asks or claims something small: a question about where it was taken, a playful opinion, a guess. It should be one or two lines and easy to answer. Reactions like the fire emoji get seen and forgotten; a sentence starts a conversation.
How do I DM someone on Instagram without being creepy?
Make the message about one specific thing they posted, keep it short, and do not comment on their body. A question they can answer in one line works best. If they do not reply, do not send a second message; DateViser is built around that rule too.
Does DateViser work with WhatsApp or Snapchat as well?
Yes. DateViser works from screenshots, so it does not matter where the conversation is: Instagram, WhatsApp, Snapchat, Telegram or a dating app. Upload the chat and it writes the next message in the language of the conversation.
How much does it cost?
DateViser is free to download and free to try: a little time with your counselor and a few screenshot replies each week, and the opener library is always free. Premium gives you more of both. The price for your country, and any free trial, is shown in the app before you subscribe.
